Mission Statement:
The IHC'S (a hospital without walls), mission is to provide healthcare
to all children regardless of their social, ethnic, or religious background
or status. We work to improve the quality of health for people living
in developing countries and provide aid to victims of natural disasters,
wars, and civil unrest. We solicit donations of medicine, supplies,
and equipment from various companies, organizations, and private donors
for shipment to recipient third world countries.
Long term Goals: To support
a self-contained health care center in every country & to
afford children around the world an opportunity for a full life.
Short term Goal: To solicit donations
that will be used to provide and foster preventative health care.
-
The IHC strives to meet
goals by providing a three fold program to receipient countries:
(1)Patient
care
The IHC has been instrumental
in providing surgical care and medical treatment to over 500
children with congenital disorders, heart dseases, renal diseases
and orthopedic deformities. Each child is placed with a host
hospital and doctors in the US, who agree to donate their services.
The Ihc finds a volunteer host family, transportation, and room
and board for the period of the treatment.
(2) Medical Mission Trips
A volunteer medical team is sent to impoverished areas to assess the
basic needs of the recipients. The team spends one week in the area
performing minor surgery, making rounds and sharing teaching procedures.
(3)Donations
of Medical Supplies
Since 1981, theihc has donated
tons of medical equipment and supplies to deprived countries. We are
constantly requesting donations of hospital equipment, surgical and
medical supplies, medicine, and nutritional suppliments. Theihc certifies
that all donated shipments to recipient countries is a gift and not
to be given in exchange for monetary considerations.
